Markija’s Visit to Medan State Polytechnic

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Markija visited Politeknik Negeri Medan in order to discuss cooperation for Indonesian vocational students to take part in the Markija Berdaya internship program to Europe. In line with Markija’s vision and mission, this hearing aims to open opportunities for  Politeknik Negeri Medan students to enrich their experience and get to know the Industrial world in their respective fields of expertise.

This audience was attended by Markija who was represented by Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU as Director and Mrs. Ratih Amanda Pratiwi as Head of Account Management. Medan State Polytechnic was represented by Ing. Heru Pranoto S.T. as Deputy Director IV for Cooperation and all department and study program leaders.

The meeting discussed opportunities for vocational students in Indonesia to be able to hone their practical skills in the industry directly through the Markija internship program. Markija is an educator as well as a facilitator connecting polytechnics in Indonesia with industries in Europe spread across several countries such as Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic. One of the benefits that will be obtained for the polytechnic itself is improving the quality and accreditation of the campus.

Welding and Fabrication Engineering Study Program is one of the flagship study programs of Politeknik Negeri Medan. Politeknik Negeri Medan and Markija will soon conduct a selection process for the Markija Internship Program in Welding for European companies, as well as other related internship fields.

This cooperation plan was welcomed by all parties of Politeknik Negeri Medan with the symbolization of the submission of a plaque represented by Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU and Mr. Ing. Heru Pranoto S.T.

Currently, Markija has dispatched 20 students from Medan State Polytechnic to take part in an internship program to Europe. Some of the companies that have become internship destinations for Medan State Polytechnic students include Csaba Metal, Continental Mako, Continental Budapest, MSK, and Mahle in Hungary, and 7 students who will be sent for internships in the near future at Continental Mako in Hungary and Prysmian in Hungary and Romania.

At the end of the activity, the Markija Team visited the Welding Laboratory. This visit aims to introduce the welding process that is usually carried out by Politeknik Negeri Medan students. It is hoped that this audience can be a stepping stone for Politeknik Negeri Medan students in improving their quality and abilities in foreign industries.
