Markija’s Visit to Sriwijaya State Polytechnic

On Monday, 20 March 2023, Markija visited Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya in order to discuss cooperation for Indonesian vocational students to take part in the Markija Berdaya internship program to Europe. In line with Markija’s vision and mission, this hearing aims to open opportunities for Sriwijaya State Polytechnic students to enrich their experience and get to know the industrial world in their respective fields of expertise.

This audience was attended by Markija, represented by Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU as Director, Mr. Hadied Safarayuza as Deputy Director, and Mrs. Ratih Amanda Pratiwi as Head of Account Management. Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya was represented by several officials who attended, including Mr. Carlos, RS, S.T., M.T as Deputy Director I, Drs. Zakaria, M.Pd as Deputy Director IV, along with all department leaders at Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya. 

The meeting was opened with remarks from Mr. Carlos, RS, S.T., M.T and continued with a discussion led by Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto, DEA, IPU. The discussion discussed the opportunities for vocational students in Indonesia to be able to hone their practical skills in the industry directly through the Markija internship program. Markija is an educator as well as an enabler connecting polytechnics in Indonesia with industries in Europe spread across several countries such as Hungary, Romania, and the Czech Republic. The meeting also discussed opportunities to adjust the curriculum based on the needs of industry in Europe in order to create a link and match between vocational education and industry in Europe. In addition, with the implementation of the Markija Internship Program, one of the benefits that will be obtained for the polytechnic itself is the improvement of campus quality and accreditation.

This cooperation plan was welcomed by all parties of Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya with the symbolization of the handover of plaques from Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya to Markija represented by Drs. Zakaria, M.Pd and the handover of plaques from Markija to Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya represented by Dr. Ir. Priyono Eko Sanyoto. So far, Markija has sent 81 students fromPoliteknik Negeri Sriwijaya to participate in the internship program to Europe. Some of companies that have become the internship destination for Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya students include Csaba Metal, Csabacast, Gemtech, Continental Mako, Continental Budapest, MSK, Yanfeng, Prysmian Romania, Prysmian Czech which are spread across 3 countries in Europe; Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic.

At the end of the activity, the Markija Team visited the Electrical Engineering Laboratory accompanied by Ir. Iskandar Lutfi, M.T. as the head of the department. This visit aims to introduce the facilities owned by Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya. It is hoped that this audience can be a stepping stone for Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya students in improving their quality and ability in foreign industries.
